Our Story

Lingmo OS began as CuteOS in early 2023, a project based on Ubuntu with the fishUI framework. It was renamed to SwiftOS in April 2023, and finally to Lingmo OS in May 2023. Today, Lingmo OS is developed by a global community of contributors, powered by the rock-solid Debian GNU/Linux base with the elegant Lingmo Desktop Environment.

Timeline

2023

Project founded as CuteOS, based on Ubuntu with fishUI framework. Renamed to SwiftOS in April, then Lingmo OS in May. First public releases and community building.

2024

LingmoOS 2.0 'Hydrogen' released, fully migrated to Debian base with Lingmo Desktop Environment. Polaris beta series, community growth, and infrastructure expansion.

2025

LingmoOS 3.0 'Helium' (NextOS) released with major performance improvements, new LingmoUI toolkit, and support for 20+ languages.

2026

Ongoing development with expanded hardware support, refined desktop experience, and a growing global community of contributors and users.
